October in long-term care pharmacy means it’s time for the flu vaccine! Here at East Tennessee Pharmacy Services, we are so very thankful for our nurse account manager, Angela, and Robin Smith, director of operations, who have worked tirelessly to ensure a successful and healthy 2020 vaccine clinic! Robin’s work starts in the early spring with pre-booking and continues throughout the month of October as she keeps our supply on track and organizes delivery to our SNF customers.
This year brought many obstacles but Robin made it happen! Our “Vaccine Queen” Angela heads up the planning and execution of our ALF clinics. The preparation and communication began s everal months ahead of schedule due to COVID-19. From additional PPE requirements and enhanced infection control processes to volunteering to complete clinics by herself, Angela is a ROCKSTAR! During our assisted living clinics, we are honored to vaccinate more than 1,100 residents and community staff. All of this is made possible by the hard work and dedication of these two employees!
